RPC warning, RPC create failed: Remote system error - Connection refu

Legato experts,

Im receiving the following error:

fleece:/local1 3 retries attempted
* fleece:/local1 save: RPC warning, RPC create failed: Remote system error - Connection refused
* fleece:/local1
* fleece:/local1 save: Cannot open save session with bones.iris.com

Im not sure where the cause of the problem is, HELP!

Check your c:\program files\nsr\res\servers file, if it allows the backup server to backup that machine.

usual entries look like:

backupserver
backupserver.fqdn.example.com

That solved my problem then I get this:

* deadwood:index 3 retries attempted
* deadwood:index 04/10/03 07:59:14 PM nsrexec: Attempting a kill on remote save
* deadwood:index aborted due to inactivity

Any ideas???

slow network link? possible alignment errors? check your network/switch

I have seen this when the NIC is set to AUTO rather then 100/Full etc, when the backups get going the NIC and the Switch seem to start re-negotiating settings and time outs occur.
