I am setting up RPC over HTTPS with exchange 2003 latest
service packs and the client is XP SP2 with outlook
2003. I think I am close to getting this setup but, when
ever I check the mail box settings it changes the exchange server name and it resolves the exchange server to the local exchange server name instead of keeping it as the FQDN. Why does it keep doing this and can I make it stop. As soon as it does this it won't connect.

All the documentation says not to do the Check Name and just cancel it. i have just got it running here sucessfully. What i did do though is i put an entry in the HOSTS file to point the local machine name (NETBios name) to the FQDN. Then it was all happy.
