i am having trouble removing the router to revert to single internet use.i no longer need the router for networking.

What is the question - how to remove the device? Unplug the ethernet cable that is connected to the device's WAN port & plug it into the NIC on the PC. But this might not be a good idea for a variety of reasons.

yes how to remove the device.what are the reasons for not doing this.

Unplug the ethernet cable that is connected to the device's WAN port & plug it into the NIC on the PC.

One of the main reasons for not doing this, is because with this scenario there is now no NAT - so you protection from the internet is based soley on your software firewall. There is really no advantage to removing this router, even if there's only 1 pc involved. Is there something more that is prompting this question?

we have already done the unplug and plug into computer. it would not connect to the internet.i need the router for my son so he can use it at his home.

Whatever settings were on the router, now need to be set on the PC.

thanks smah for your input, have resolved problem.simple really took your advice plugged striaght into computer from modem, then unplugged the modem for a few seconds.when i tried the internet again i went to my home page first go.

Glad it worked, just make sure that your software firewall is updated and functioning properly.
