Routing Within Sco

My sco unix server (running open server 5) has two network cards in it. One has a static IP of 90.0.0.1 and the other has a static IP of 10.0.0.6. I wish to use the the sco server as a LAN router so I don't have to have two network cards in all the PCs I wish to use on both the networks. But because this server is running our retail system it already has a default route. Can anyone tell me how to add another route without comprimising the one that is already there.

Only one default route is allowed.... you will need to route the different networks

but i need more information to help you

First make sure ipforwarding is enabled

your route table on the sco machine assuming class "A" networks should look something like: (netstat -nr)
90.0.0.0 90.0.0.1
10.0.0.0 10.0.0.6
default xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
10.0.0.6 127.0.0.1
90.0.0.1 127.0.0.1
224....etc

What you need to do is define routes on your PC's
ie: a pc with an IP 10.0.0.99 will have a route table that looks like:

10.0.0.0 10.0.0.99
10.0.0.99 127.0.0.1
90.0.0.0 10.0.0.6 <- this is the one you need to define

and a pc on the 90. network needs a route defined like
10.0.0.0 90.0.0.1

If you have a couple hundred bucks, you could probably accomplish this relatively simply without fooling with your Unix box. Get a DSL/ Cable router that supports multiple IP subnets on the ethernet side such as the Netopia line. Your routing will take place automagically and you don't need to fool with your production machine. Just a thought, since sometimes it's easier to spend a couple of dollars then to risk idling the personnel.
