We are a one location, small non-profit and have "inherited" a Merlin Legend system release 7 in our new building. We have two groups of consecutive numbers as well as many individual numbers coming in on our PRI line. The DID is working (numbers within the consecutive groups) but I am having some problems understanding and getting the individual numbers to route. The call routing table is below.

The mail group of numbers is 227-94xx and the individual numbers are various conbinations but none have the same last four numbers. Do I have to have the "exceptions" listed first in the table? Or maybe match the full seven digits?

Thanks for any assistance.

A Dial Plan Routing Table

A Entry Number: 0 1 2 3
A NtwkServ: Any service Any service Any service Any service
A Expected Digits: 3 3 3 3
A Pattern to Match: 541 646 109
A Digits to Delete: 0 3 3 3
A Digits to Add: 490 492 494

First off, the order you build the tables is not important. The system looks at all routing tables before making a decision.

The info you posted tells me that the Vendor is sending 3 digits, putting in all 7 would probably foul things up.
(Unless the Vendor is NOT sending just 3 digits...)

Table 0 expects and accepts any 3 digits being sent, so any 4xx number would/should be routed OK, if the Vendor really is sending only 3 digits, and if you have 4xx extensions to match what's being sent.

Looking at Table 1, for instance, the Vendor sends XXX-X541, and the Legend then points that to extension 490.

This may help you understand how it's supposed to work.

I entered tables 1,2, & 3. So you are telling me that as long as the vender is sending 3 digits, my table entries should work as I thought. The numbers are definitly coming in on the PRI line, but are being dumped to the operator. Can you think of any reason why that would happen?

Well, now we need to know all about this.

For starters, what is the vendor set for, as in what type of CO, and things like that.

Are they really sending 3 digits, and do those digits match extensions in your dial plan?

What about Route 1, does it work?

Route entry 0 works and the extension numbers match the one dial range (we are not using numbers in the second dial range). I am trying to verify they are sending 3 digits, but if they were not, would Route 0 work?

Route entries 1,2,3 do not work.

Thanks for everyones help.

The routing table is working now, so the problem is no more.

FYI,
We are receiving the last three digits of the number dialed. So we are receiving xxx.

And this was fixed by?????

Could it be another TELCO Miracle?
