Hi-

I've searched through here and didn't find any posts on this. I have a few PRIs coming into my Option 11, I have DIDs and they don't match many extensions (the DIDs are sequential and the exts are all over the place). My telco can change the DNIS on the DIDs for a few bucks a month, but I want to implement DIDs for about 40 extensions at this point. I was told that I can tell the PBX to route the inbound calls to whatever extension I want, but I don't know how. The telco sends 4 digit DNIS and out extensions are 4 digits as well.

Just add the last 4 digits from your range of DID's to the sets. If you have 754-3000 to 754-3099, just start adding 3000, then 3001, 3002 ect. Very simple to do. You probably see all the non DID numbers, due to thru dialer routing.

The DID's should already be pointing to your PRI's, you just need to add them to the sets. If these are non ACD sets, you can make easy changes to add them to the sets.

You can reroute your DID to any extension by using the IDC table in LD 49.

If you print a list of your DID's and print your LUDN from LD 20, we could probably assist you without having to use LD 49.

Make life easy for yourself, just put a DID ext on any phone that needs it.

Especially if you don't understand LD 49. Could be confusing down the road for you.

He stated his DID's were not matching his extensions, so that's why I suggested the LUDN.

He may be using 4-digit extensions and only seeing some range fields not in use that are confusing????

As Ace said, matching the DID to the phone is the cleanest.

I have thought about adding a DID button to the sets, but truthfully that would confuse everyone around here. And I can't really change the extensions because most of the people have had them for almost 10 years. I was thinking that I could use LD 49 to change the IDC of the DIDs to the extensions.

That will work too. You could also move the non DID numbers to key 1, and add the DID to key 0, with a LHK set to 1 (last hunt key). This way you could say you wanted them to have the capability to answer a second call if they were already on the phone. Either way will work.

and add the idc table number to the route idc yes then the next two prompts the dcno number..

if you use that method you build your own did to dnis conversion table.. the cleanest way is to make the dn's match the did's but if the users can not change there internal dn.. do the conversion.. i've worked on a switch where the did's were installed and working to 3 digit ext.. they went to 4 digits and there published did range was xxx9xxx.. since 9 was not a choice for the leading digit, we did a quick conversion to a vacnat digit.. 6.. not a major problem
