We have a PRI which contains many numbers which we do not use. The way we are currently set up is that if a station does not exist for the DID then the calls go to the attendant. I wish to change that so these calls do not waste our representatives time by either ringing forever/terminating the call/busy signal whichever is easiest.

We do have one number which is our main number which does not have a station assigned that we would like to continue going to the operator.

I am a bit of a newbie with phone systems so please be easy on me. Thanks for your help.

On page 1 of system-parameters features there is a field:
DID/TIE/ISDN/SIP Intercept Treatment. This field defaults to the attendant which may be how your unassigned calls are routed to the attendant.
You can put an announcement extension in this field with whatever message you want to record, ie - The number you are calling is not in service.

I would check first though and find out how your main number and other numbers may be routed when they come in.
Check the inc-call-handling-trmt trunk-group XX form to see if you can find out how your main number is directed to the operator.
There may also be entries on this table for your unassigned numbers that you can modify.

Thanks bleebrant.

So I have it half fixed. All unassigned numbers go to an announcement. All stations with an X port, which are not used, are forwarding to 8800 which is our main number. Is there a way to forward these X port stations somewhere else. The coverage path is set to go to voicemail but I do not believe any of these extensions have voicemail setup. We have a lot of stations with an X port. Is there an alternative to removing them? I don't care if they ring busy or ring forever or terminate.

You could change their coverage path.

Or you could remove the coverage path entirely-callsrs would then hear a busy
