Hello!
I have a Definity PBX located at "A". I have another Definity PBX located at "B". Both Definitys are connected with a 23 channel tie line.
I am trying to place a call from the PBX located at "A" and route it to the PBX located at "B", then out to the public network.

The number I am trying to dial for the sake of argument is 9,15551234.

If I use the Trunk Access Codes to place the call from PBX A through PBX B, it works. My TAC for the tie is 800.
So if I dial 800, then "9", then the number it works.

If I create a specific route using ARS just for this number, it does not work.

What am I missing?

Can anyone shed some light on this?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

you have to insert a 9 in the route pattern

Yes, I did that. Now when I dial the number I get a high pitch tone, almost like a fax(there is no fax on this number) followed by "we are sorry, you must first dial a one when calling this number".

So I am dialing "9,15551234", from PBX "A", this number goes to PBX "B" 15551234. "9" is inserted in front of the number to come up with "9,15551234". The call makes it to the public network, but the number does not complete.

If I dial the number from PBX "B", it works just fine.

Any other suggestions?

can you give us a list trace from each pbx of the call

rgtrgt, do you mean "list aar route"? If not, what is the command after "list trace"?

Thanks again. Sorry for the elementary questions.

rgtrgt wants to see a "list trace tac ####" from both switches when the call is placed.

If I dial from PBX "A" and I do a list tac for the trunk group to PBX "B". Here is what I get from PBX "A".

17:34:10 dial 915551212
17:34:10 term trunk-group 10 cid 702
17:34:10 dial 915551212
17:34:10 seize trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 702
17:34:10 proceed trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 702
17:34:11 active trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 702
17:34:31 idle station 53844 cid 702
17:34:31 TRACE COMPLETE trunk-group 10 cid 702

From PBX "B" I get nothing.

When I dial using the TAC code to PBX "B", the call goes through. Here is what I get using a list trace tac on PBX "B" to the same number

17:55:09 dial 915551212
17:55:09 route-pattern 3 preference 1 cid 0x15b
17:55:09 seize trunk-group 51 member 22 cid 0x15b
17:55:09 Setup digits 15551212
17:55:09 Calling Number & Name NO-CPNumber Doe,John
17:55:09 Proceed trunk-group 51 member 22 cid 0x15b
17:55:10 Alert trunk-group 51 member 22 cid 0x15b
17:55:33 active trunk-group 51 member 22 cid 0x15b
17:55:37 idle trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 0x15b

Here is a "list trace tac" when using the TAC codes to go from PBX "A" to PBX "B" then out to the public network.

PBX "A"

17:51:43 dial 700
17:51:43 dial trunk-group 10 cid 722
17:51:43 dial 700
17:51:43 seize trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 722
17:51:43 proceed trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 722
17:52:02 alert trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 722
17:52:25 active trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 722
17:52:31 idle station 53844 cid 722
17:52:31 TRACE COMPLETE trunk-group 10 cid 722

PBX "B"

18:08:21 dial 915551212
18:08:21 route-pattern 3 preference 1 cid 0x16e
18:08:21 seize trunk-group 51 member 23 cid 0x16e
18:08:21 Setup digits 15551212
18:08:21 Calling Number & Name NO-CPNumber Doe, John
18:08:21 Proceed trunk-group 51 member 23 cid 0x16e
18:08:22 Alert trunk-group 51 member 23 cid 0x16e
18:08:45 active trunk-group 51 member 23 cid 0x16e
18:08:51 idle trunk-group 10 member 1 cid 0x16e

Using the TAC codes it works!

Can I do this without the TAC codes? Using ars?

Anyone?

9 in the trunk and is allocated as a group, are taking particular trunk group with a tac. If you want to achieve with your request to allocate 9, and then you have to write your route ars.

Hankxu, thanks for the comment. Can you please explain in more detail?
If I delete 9, then add it in my route, shouldn't that work?
How would I do this using ARS?
Thanks for your input.
