Hi all

I cant seem to figure it out how to make routing between sites, when they all have identical extensions.

We have 4 BCM sites so far, and in the process of adding few more in near future, we want to make extensions on each site to be same, just to dial different destination code before it.

At the moment, each site has different extension and everything is working fine.

Let me give you information on the setup,

Site A, extensions 2221-2300
Site B, extensions 3001-3100
Site C, extensions 4001-4100
Site D, extensions 5001-5100

What we want to do is make dialing 30 for Site A, and extension 2001.
dialing 31 for Site B and extension 2001.
dialing 41 for Site C and extension 2001.

So what i want to make is all extension numbers to start with 2 in each site, so in whichever location you are, you call the same number to reach some of the remote locations.

I can setup 312 destination code, from Site A to Site B, and it will work. I can do the same from each Site, but I can not setup for multiple Sites.

Any help, maybe i am missing something.
All the sites are connected with VoIP Trunks without MSDN, and maybe i have to setup the correct destination digit, dont know.

If you need more information just tell me, but if you can help me out thank a lot.

remember to configure the dialling plan as udp not cdp, and complete the udp config.

As cdp works currently, I would be tempted to stick with udp and configure accordingly, eg site e = 2401 onwards

can you clarify a little bit your answer?
i dont understand what you mean.

I am familiar with Nortel BCM configuration, but not an expert.

CDP = coordinated dialling plan. This is configured in BCM under
Private Dialing Plan: Private, type = CDP etc

CDP is where sites have unique DNs just as you have currently.

UDP = Universal Dialling Plan based on LOC codes, e.g. 31-2001 for site A, or 41-2001 for site B. This is what you wanted.

However as stated, why not stick with CDP and use unique DNs? e.g. site E = 2401 onwards.

because we might have few more sites in near future, and this will complicate things a lot.

When it is only 3-4 sites, it is not a problem, till now we reached to 5001, and it is problematic. but putting 3-4 more it will become a problem.

Can you give me example of how udp is configured?

if you can give me information on how to try the UDP setup, i will appreciate it.

I havent done that before and i can not find any good tutorial in order to understand how it works.

Thank you.

ok any help with the UDP Routing setup?
