Hi,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a useful tool. I want a tool that allows me to put in all or some of the statistics for a given interface on a router or switch and it give an indication as to if this is within the given accepted levels.

For example, the accepted level for CRC errors is 1 in 1 million bytes. If I put in that my interface has transmitted 1 million byes and I put in 3 CRC errors, I want it to flag it and give me an indication, perhaps as a percentage of how far over the accepted level this is.

I hope this makes sense and that this is posted in the right forum.

I really appreciate any feedback anyone might be able to give.

Cheers

thebdj,

You may want to try out the PERL forum.

It would be trivial for a savy PERL programmer to use Net::telnet or Net::ssh modules to pull these statistics and validate them against your criteria.
