Is there a way to export logging (buffer and trap logging)information from 3640 router into a text file (not using Telnet logging option)?

Yes.. use the SYSLOG function. You need a syslog deamon running on a Unix/linux box or on a NT/98/95 box. COnfigure the router to use the IP address of the syslog and setup what traps and levels you want to use.

!
logging 192.1.1.x ; this takes the logging and sends it the 192.1.1.x syslog server
!

I have this documented in the best practices FAQ posted here.
