hi everyone,

i've got a problem with the upgrading of the flash in a 1605R router. I'm trying to upgrade it from a tftp-server. at first, i thought that it worked, but now i don't know how to get out of the Router(boot)#.

if somebody can help me, please do...

tnxs,

ps.: i hope that you understand my problem, 'cause my English isn't great...

>enable
after you provide the correct password, the prompt "#"will appear.

Yes i understand that, but the boot won't disappear. and when i do:
#show flash, it says that that has been no flash in the router.

The router can't find the ios binary specified in the config so it's booting to RxBoot mode (image from boot ROM). In this platform the flash memory is actually a flash card. You access this as slot0:.

dir slot0:
copy tftp slot0:

When you have the image there you can optionally add a boot command to tell the router where it needs to look.

boot system flash slot0:c1600-sy-l.122-1a.bin

If you don't the router will load the 1st image it sees.
Confirm your boot register is 0x2102

i've already found the problem.....and it's pretty silly..:))))

i didn't have the right ios file (.bin)
it was 0 kb and it had to be more than 3000 kb.

that was the one thing i wasn't looking for....

but thanks you all for trying to help me..
