I think I have some extra un-used features on my MD110:

Least cost routing is ON.

in NADAP I have
code number series:
0
3
6
what does this mean ?

I have a route 1 which is the main one
I have route 11 for calls to mobiles

I see these two routes in most RO config commands

However I also see route 2 and route 10 in ROCAP and RODAP

but I dont see to what these two extra routes are attached

routes 2 and 10 do not appear in RODDP nor RODNP nor RODRP

I dont see any equ attahced in ROEDP either .

can someone help me to understand if these 2 routes are useless or not ?

More info like roddp:dest=all; lcddp:tab=dnt1; lcddp:tab=dnt2;

If you send roedp:rou=2 (or 10), tru=all; and get a response of "tru not assigned", then the route is vacant.

You can send rodrp:rou=2 (or 10); to see if there are any dest codes pointed at these routes.

It doesn't hurt anything if they're in there, but you can end them by route:rou=x; if it really bugs you.

It depends on where in the print they appear......They're either LCR codes or DEST codes.

they appear in the following section result of NADAP;

LEAST COST ROUTING ACCESS
CODE NUMBER SERIES
0
3
6

what does this mean exactly?

It means that any digits dialled after any of these LCR access codes are sent thru the LCR tables for analysis to see if any of the tables contain a match.

If a match is found, then the digit string is processed according to the criteria set forth in the particular table in which the match is found.

If no match is found in any of the tables, the call will fail and the user will see "vacant number" in their display.

Having multiple LCR access codes allows for greater customization of your dial plan.....you can use one code for local calls, another code for long distance, another for calls to mobile phones or other private networks etc.

Good luck,

Dave Strang

to dave: If no match is found in any of the tables, then system looks for the the entry made in lcldp. To avoid "vacant number" this LCR-Default-table should always been set. In my opinion it is a "must".

It is a must.....but you don't have to enter a valid dest code in the DEST parameter. I purposely enter a bogus code to plug a possible dial-around hole.

My system is at a University - any method of dialling around LD charges gets spread around VERY quickly.

C-ya,
