Arcserve 2000 workgroup edition sp2, nt4, sp6.

I set the retention period to 27 days on my media pool rotation and after the backup if you look at the properties of the tape in the save set the retention period is one year?????????

TJP,

The retention time is a property of the media pool, not the tape.

I have ArcServe 2000 on Win2k, which may be different than on NT. I don't see retention period in the tape properties.

If you're looking at the expiration date, that's the point at which the tape may fail and should be replaced with a new tape.

Hope this answers your question.

thanks sean. i assumed the expiration date reflected when the tape would be moved from the save set to the scratch set.

Regards,

tony.
