Root password

Here is what I did. I set the local root password on my Linux 9 box and now I can't log on to php or uses mysql. How can I change to password to let me login?

Yes it is The password that I set was for PHP not Linux. Sorry that I didn't specify that.

There is no password to set for PHP. PHP uses whatever permissions exist for the user that invokes it.
