Hey guys i am having an issue with room status codes, when the housekeeper enters a code on the phone a different code is displayed on the management system. for example the housekeeper enters the code for clean the system say dirty.

I want to know if the problem is with the PBX or the PMS, is there away to see the status from the pbx?

thanks

can you not do an enhanced trace on the set & typr the code to see what the set is out putting & system recieving?

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Two things you can do.
You can see the messages sent to and from the PMS by turning the monitor on in LD 37
.enl msgi (dis msgi to turn off)
.enl msgo (dis msgo to turn off)
You will see messages something this:
MT [STX]ST 7200 CL MI 0[ETX][BCC] 8:32:56
PT [ACK] 8:32:56
The CL in this case means the status for the room with DN 7200 was changed to CLeaned.

To get the current status of all the rooms you need a TTY port that is configured for USER BGD.
From that port you can enter Background Terminal commands to print and change room status.

See the Hospitality Features Fundamentals guide for details.

Thanks a lot StanleySteamer, CL is clean, what is PA and what are the other codes that i should look out for?

What state are these two rooms in?

MT [STX]ST 6314 PR MI 0[ETX][BCC]17:03:38

MT [STX]ST 5411 PA MI 0[ETX][BCC]17:05:40

Like I said you will find the details in the Hospitality Features Fundamentals book.

Thanks Guys!

I visited the customers site today to get a better understanding of their request. They want to reword the room status codes. Option 1 is what i have programmed on the PBX, option 2 is what the customer required.
My question is, how do i change the codes to reflect option 2? If this is possible, which Load do i access it from?

Option 1
1 => RE => cleaning requested
2 => PR => cleaning in progress
3 => CL => cleaned
4 => PA => cleaning passed inspection
5 => FA => cleaning failed inspection
6 => SK => cleaning skipped

Option 2
1 => RE => cleaning requested
2 => PR => cleaning in progress
3 => SK => Check
4 => CL => Clean
