I keep getting put into rommon mode on my 1721. I know I have a valid ios. All I did was load a config into start from tftp and reloaded.

Any ideas ?

No resolved yet. I agree that the registry value needs to be set but from what I can tell it shoud be 0X0 (unlike the 2600 which should be 0x2102 but this didn't work. I'll keep working on it.

Nice typing in my above message sorry.

Well whatever.....All is OK now. I still don't know what went wrong.

All I did when things went wrong was:

1. save my ios to a tftp server
2. upload a config file from tftp server to start and reload
3. Here is where I was forced into rommon mode and couldn't get out. I could type 'boot flash:<filename>' and it would load the boot image just fine. Setting the registry values did nothing but boot in different modes. In the end I had to modify a monitor variable to point at my ios bin file and presto all was good.

4. for fun I decided to reload my config file again and all was good. Who knows. Perhaps faulty equip.
