Hello,

I have a Cisco 4700 Router. I just purchased it used, and there is no IOS loaded. I'm not able to get to the Router>(boot) prompt, it only loads up to the ROMMON 1> Prompt. I need to know how I can load an IOS Image from the laptop I'm connecting to the console with. I have TFTP server, and I can't seem to get the dnld command to work at all. Please let me know if there is any way to get this up and running. Thanks in advance.

has this been resolved? If not I can post more information

Hello ccie7211, and bobthecat,

I checked out both of your posts, and ccie7211 is correct, my 4700 series router does not support the xmodem command.
I did check out the last post and this is the information I'am looking for. My problem now rests on finding a CD that contains the needed files so I can download them to my router. If either of you know where I can get a copy of the IOS and Boot image for a 4700 please let me know. Thank you for your posts.

You can get the appropraite images from cisco.com, but you are going to need a CCO login with appropriate access.

If you have pretty much all the information you need to configure the unit, you can alway go and download the Cisco Config Maker program available on Cisco's Web Site.

I found it really easy to configure out 1720 with little problem. We only needed some ISP specific information to add in.
