ROMMON > NO IMPUT

Hi, I just bought a router that was pre configured. I after going into rommon > so I can bypass the start up, I cant seem to input any data into the prompt. My main concern is that the router or hyperterminal will not accept keystrokes

is there any way i can fix this. Is there a way i can bypass the flash?

By getting a rommon> prompt you are bypassing the flash. it won't let you type anything? do you have the IOS you can do a xmodem transfer with? The best thing to do would be to erase the config, reload the IOS and set it up how you want.

Hi,

From the console you should see what you are typing.
Obviously in Rommon there are only a few commands you can actually enter.
If nothing is being echoed back check your hyperterminal settings.

All, thank you for your help. I took the router to a friends house and right before my eyes, it started working.
It seems to be the terminal settings on the hyperterminal.
