A co-worker has asked if it's possible to use a typical PC hard drive in a Rolm Mod 10. He believes the older PDC/drive assemblies with the blue diskette eject button were SCSI - and the newer models with the white eject button were IDE. I assume we'd need new newer model PDC, which I think is the 90595. Not sure if the diskette drfive would have to be changed to the newer model as well.

Dual Drive 91215A requires a 90594
Dual Drive 91216 requires a 90595

Model 40 and 50
Hard Drive 91323 requires 90594
Hard Drive 91324 requires 90595

Thanks - is the 91324 hard drive IDE?

Is there a way to change the drive type on the HD (91215A)from a SCSI to a IDE? we have multiple Mod10 with the older drives that are failing, replacements are hard to find and costly. I was able to use a normal PC HD on the IDE (newer) HD/FL assemblies. I have both type PDC's in inventory, I believe the floppy (blue or white button) will work with any PDC.
Thanks my rolmen brothers...

You are correct about the Floppy, but I have never heard of anyone changing the drive type. We still get ours from SIEMENS RESALE. But with a little backwards engineering I bet it could be done.
