Roaming User Profile

I tried to follow a knowledge base article on setting up a Roaming User Profile and it didn't work. Can anyone give me step by step on a Roaming User Profile setup? All users on the network will log normally on one pc each except for one particular user who will log in all over the place. He needs a Roaming Profile that follows him company wide.

without sounding harsh if you are following the knowledge base and it does not work then you must be doing something wrong.
Can you please expand. Where is it failing? Do you receive any error messages? What Client and server software are you using.
Have you tried logging on at more than one client?

Without sounding even harsher, if you think that by following the Microsoft Knowledge Base article things always work, those Certifications must be text book and not real world experience.

Basically I followed the article and set everything up. When I log in as the user and make changes to the profile all is well until I log in to another workstation and my settings don't follow me. Only this client, at any machine.

2 things you need to do:

1. Set up a network share (say on your Domain Controller) that will be the area that will support your profiles centrally.

2. In the profile area of each user account within AD Users & Computers, enter the '\\<servername>\<Profiles share>\%username%' share. As users log on, their username will be populated in the share as %username% is a variable that will populate the field with the user account.

This is pretty basic, but hopefully will lead you in the right direction.

Always test first before rolling this out ;-)
