Roaming Profile

If a user is setup to use a roaming profile and the profile directory is set to \\servername\%username%\profile, what exactly is downloaded from the server when that user logs on?

1. Everything in the profile directory?
2. Just the nutuser.dat?

I'm asking because this profile directory has grown to almost 18Mb. The ntuser.dat is just over 2Mb.

You can control what is downloaded as part of the Roaming profile.

The missing ingredient for you is what Microsoft calls "Folder Redirection."

You can hack other aspects of the Folder, including forcing a completely local cached copy, but I suspect that folder redirection is what you need.

Yep... everything is downloaded... the whole 18mb.
