I have a win2003 server running roaming profiles. it works well but at times when someone uses another machine that they've been on once or twice, the profile isn't downloaded. I get a message that says that the server cannot find the roaming profile and that a temp file is being used instead.

Does anyone know whats wrong?

Give us a bit more than the error message and we'll try and help!

Maybe more info about your environment, (user numbers, how often this happens, client OS, where the path is pointing too, security etc.) and more on the error such as event log entries please!

Cheers,

Steve.

still having the same problems. once in a while the roaming profile doesn't work unless I restart the computer. the message I'm getting is access denied but users have full access to the roaming profile folder.

i have a similar problem quite often..........is this on a terminal server?? if so, i just delete the profile from the terminal server profiles

so, does anyone know how to fix this?

to get it to work I will delete the profile from either the Server or the workstation. I'm looking for a more stable solution.

Please see my first post in this thread. More information would help is people trying to resolve your problem.

In particular, the event logs, client versions, what you have already checked and more detail surrounding the issue and your environment.
