Hi All!

I have some DT288 on a DECT GAP system generated by an Alcatel PBX (OXO 100).

When the DT288 is in conversation, it does not succeed to change of Base Station.
Instead a DT290 works correctly.

With the DT288 the call is abandoned and parked on the PABX that recalls the DT288 through a new base station.

Anyone knows if is possible to modify the way of operation of the DT288 (for example with a hidden features)?

Thanks

You can try to put base stations on a single card, if you have distributed base stations among lot of cards. i.e. try to minimize & optimize the coverage area with a single card.
That way handover will be seamless if the changed base station appears to be on the same card.
Or to have sync between cards...

Singhbrindisi,

Puting all your base stations on a signle card is not necessarily a good idea. In the MD a base station can handle 8 similtaneous calls, but an MD ELU 31 can only handle 16 similtaneous calls, so in a high calling enviroment you would want to spread your BS covering an area over multiple cards. Look at the examples in ALEX.

Giob,

What software rev is the DT288? Maybe this is the problem.

I must still verify the firmware. SYAR has supplied to me the procedure to make it.
But my impression is that DT288 has not upgrade. The only release that I know is R1D (released in year 2000).

IMMO Ericsson has a "proprietary" implementation of GAP: for example some Siemens DECT telephones don't work on a GAP System generated by an Ericsson BP250: they don't succeed to change of Base Station during conversation.
This is the "alter ego" of my problem.

I would like to know if exist a parameter in DT288 configuration that changes its handover/roaming mode, because is evident that exists more than one way to do handover/roaming in GAP protocol.

The firmware on DT288 is R1D

Mix of vendors dect handset and dect system .
Sometimes it works , sometimes not .

The reason is that even it they don't say so ,there is still
propriatary signalling used by the makers .

That could mean misinterped events between handset and the system.

DT368 for instace is working five minutes when
registered to a alcatel system .
After five minutes it's completly lost until
some keys are pressed ,and it wakes up again.

We always recommend users to use the vendors of the dect systems handsets.
Reason is simple :
If there is any trouble there is no help to get anywhere.
Maker of handset say you must contact the maker of the dect system and vice versa .

:) I agree with you, Syar.

I'm trying to put a patch on a situation created in a commercial action [mad] .

The strange thing is that DT290 on the same system works well [neutral].

On this base I'm searching the way to do the same thing on DT288. Unfortunately DT288 has no upgrade from R1D.

Could you confirm to me that doesn't exist any parameter on DT288 to modify its working mode?
(No, I don't have a Million of Dollars for this answer :))

Thanks

First versions of the DT288 was "only" GAP compatible, later on the FW was updated to GAP/CAP.

If the DT288 says "Ericsson" in the display when switched on then, it's the old FW, "DT288" in the display then its' the new FW:
