Hi, we have problem to recover oracle 9i DB using RMAN
Each time we try to recover the DB i get this error message

RMAN-03002: failure of Duplicate Db command at 10/17/2005 00:21:18
RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script
ORA-19507: failed to retrieve sequential file, handle="/FULL_BIP01_ach1aohm/", parms=""
ORA-27029: skgfrtrv: sbtrestore returned error
ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:
nwora_open_restore: Cannot connect to media index server 'bckctrn05'.

Any idea...

Also, another question

I have a library with 6 LTOII Tape drive, my DB is 3TB.
How much channel should i need to allocate in my rman script in order to improve by Backup/restore time.

Thanks

Obviously, there is an error in your script.

-----------------

At least you need one channel per drive. However, the number of streams also depend on the the parallelism for the device (target session) and also on the server parallelism.

Hi,

We start the recover at 15:00 and it's terminate by the error at 00:20

Recovery Manager complete.

Make sure that the media db is intact by running the command "nsrim -Xv".

You may also try to and set the NSR_NO_BUSY environment variable to False on the Oracle client.
