Hi everybody,
here is my second question a little specific..
I am having a clone problem about my rman back up .it backs up the rman and it also clones the indexes but not the save set . ?s there anybody who have experienced this kind of thing??
Thanks..

I have exactly the same problem, and have not been able to resolve it yet.
So I would also appreciate it very much if anyone could help with this in any way.

Sounds weird.

Do you use automatic cloning for the group? In this case does it work with a filesystem backup?

Yes, we do use automatic cloning for all of our savegroups. It works for all of them except for the ones that start rman scripts on our HP-UX oracle cluster. In those cases only indexes are being cloned.

A filesystem backup of the cluster nodes does work (although that is being done with a different savegroup).

Hope someone recognizes this problem (and has a solution).

Thanks,
Dennis

The question to me would be whether this is a general problem or a timing issue.

- If it does not run automatically, can you manually clone the save sets later?
- Can you clone the rman save sets to another pool at all?
- If this does not work, what exact error messages do you get?
- What is the setup of a working pool if you compare it with the non-working one?

I can clone the rman save sets manually without a problem.
The problem is, we have savegroups that run several times a day that generate rman data to tape, so that is something I would really like to avoid.

Also the savegroup cloning does run automatically, the thing is that only the index files are being cloned, and not the rman data.

This is also the reason that I don't get any error messages when running these savegroups, because it is assumed by Networker that cloning has been performed successfully.
However, when I look at the media in the clone pool I can only see indexes and bootstrap info written to the media.
