I normally purchase a rj45 connector that does not have a separate guide. I always have to work the wires in the slots.

I grabbed a pack without paying attention today and found this little crimp guide. I have no idea how it fits in there. And when I try to put the wires in the slots without the guide it is very loose.

How do I use this guide?

If it matters the part number is PT-0588-5OUL from Frye's Outpost (outpost.com).
thanks,
Mark

You first slip the wires through the guide, you then slip the whole assembly into the connector and crimp. The guides are to help keep the wires in the correct order and to be able to help you maintain the twist.

Bob, thanks. I had trouble figuring out which way to put the guide into the connector. It has a beveled edge, which goes up I now see.

Bob answered my question, but how do I show it's been answered?

You don't on this forum, the nearest thing is to give somebody a star for their help.
