I have configured a Windows RIS server on the same subnet as our DHCP server. When I attempt to obtain an IP address using the Microsoft created RIS boot disk, from a client on a seperate network, I receive an error message stating that the client is not able to communicate with a DHCP server.

The testing I have done thus far is as follows:
a) Moved the test environment to the same subnet. - Successful
b) Obtained an IP address cross subnet in a Windows environment. - Successful
c) Obtained an IP address in a DOS environment using BARTS modular boot disk. - Successful

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance!!

We are having the exact same issue and was wondering if you had found a resolution yet. Thanks!
