Hi,

I am trying to setup a RIS Server and I have done everything that was documented but I keep getting the error message:

The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different OS image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator. Setup can not continue. Press any key to exit

I an using Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet and I have edited the .inf file:

Original Revised

[Manufacturer] [Manufacturer]
%BRCM% = Broadcom, NTx86.5.1 %BRCM% = Broadcom

[ControlFlags] [ControlFlags]
ExcludeFromSelect = * ExcludeFromSelect = *

[Broadcom.NTx86.5.1] [Broadcom]

And I have copied the Windows XP and Windows 2000 drivers to the correct place according to article Q246184.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong.

Cheers

Dave

Why are you modifying the INF file?? If you follow the instructions in the Q246184, you simply take the 2 files needed in this case (filenames might be a tad different):

B57win32.inf
B57xp32.sys

The procedure is to place them in your $OEM$\$1\Drivers\NIC
and then modify the .SIF:

[Unattended]
OemPreinstall = yes
OemPnpDriversPath = Drivers\Nic

Ok, as last resort, try copying the 3 files in the C:\I386 also. I personnally try to avoid doing this, but the Intel / Broadcoms don't seem to like the standard way.

You MUST recycle the BINL services on the RIS server.

It won't hurt copying the .CAT file also, but you must make sure your SignaturePolicies are set to Ignore in the .SIF
