I just setup RIS on my Windows 2003 server and am trying to load a client. Connecting to the RIS server works beautifully I can log in and get everything started but when it actually tries to load the files (SCSI drivers and USB etc) onto the workstation it is soooo slooow I left it running overnight and came back in the next morning and it was stuck on prepairing to start windows! I have tried plugging into a differnt hub and changed the nic drivers but it didn't help. I have done a search on the internet but can't really find anything has anybody else had this problem or know how to resolve it?

Thanks

You haven't, by any chance, installed RIS on a domain controller have you?

Are you by chance using an Intel nic? I had the same problem occur intermittently. I was using an Intel Pro 100 or something like that and decided to try an old 3com just to see what would happen. It worked on the first try and I haven't had a problem since.
