2000 Server/XP Pro SP2
I have succesdully created a number of CD-Based images that install from RIS via PXE. I am now attempting to create images from a Client using Riprep but can't seem to make the NIC locate the required drivers in the image.
I have followed the steps in the following two KB articles:
315279
314479
i.e.
I have setup a Client with XP SP2 and then created a folder called 'Sysprep' on c:. I have created a file in it called 'Sysprep.inf' containing only the following:
[unattended]
OemPnPDriversPath = Drivers\NIC
I then create a folder on c: called 'Drivers' containing a folder called 'NIC' and copy the NIC driver files into this.
I then run Riprep.exe on the Client from the RIS Server to image the Client.
After the image is created I edit it on the Server.
I edit the .sif file in the Templates folder and add the following:
[unattended]
DriverSigningPolicy = ignore
OemPreinstall = yes
OemPnPDriversPath = Drivers\NIC
I create the following folder structure at the same level as the 'i386' folder:
\$oem$\$1\Drivers\NIC
I then copy the NIC drivers into this.
I also copy the .inf and .sys files from the driver files into the 'i386' folder.
After this I then stop and restart the 'Boot Information Negotiation Layer' service on the Server.
OK - now, when I try to install the image I receive an error message stating that the NIC drivers can't be found.
Any ideas please - I'm totally stumped!
Thanks very much guys.
