record all the settings for the ext
- 12xx,13xx,16x,17x,18x 73,771 call forwards etc
-find it in cm 10 or 14 , delete it
- go to an unused len number ( 763 ? )
- assign a dummy number eg 3AB
- reassign the deleted ext to its original len number
- reassign all recorded information.
- delete the dummy number

we used to call this shifting the offset, it basically removes any and all programming from a len number and is often required when 'strange' things are happening.
you cannot just CCC the ext and reassign it as when you do some data is stored in a temporary scratch memory area and is reapplied when you assign the next number.
