We have Option 61 for a mid size company that runs to 9 buildings up and down the street. Recently, the rain may have caused some type of random problem. In the same building one 500 set when answered has a beeping sound, and in voice mail. Another 500 set in the same building continued to ring until they unplugged the phone. Both phones cleared ok the next day. I would like to know if this type of intermittent problem can be repaired?
Thank you, Ms tech

tip side of the line could have a high ohm short to ground.. both sounds like wet cable or station wire. that is often the blame when you have ghost problems... are these building on tie cable, t's or glass? your discription sounds like copper.. could be a bad (or several) bad ports.. but when a problem cures itself, sounds like a wet spot dried out.. ports do not often "get well"

It must be wet cabling and it is copper. What a site when I took a hike trailing the cabling to these buildings as it is too exposed to all types of elements. Has any animal ever chewed through the cabling? Oh well, back to the phone room where there is only water on the floor.
Thank you for your help. Ms. teletech...rainy California!
