We are trying to hookup a ringer or light in a busy area, all of the system pairs have aready been used. This is a Nortel Norstar MICS. We need this to be hooked up to the extension only or other words wired to the extension pairs or the speaker of that extension set.

I solved this problem using the ATA in the MICS - call forward no answer
the extension to the ATA after the second ring and connected a ringing
relay to a Valcom horn. The phone would ring twice and then the horn would
sound. works on lines and intercom both

A third party alerter (ringer or light)can be connected to the headset jack of a Norstar phone. These are remotely powered and only receive ringing indication from the Norstar phone.

Algo makes a huge selection of ringers and flashers that will connect to the headset port on a telephone set. EG the duet plus. Then in programming set the phone for alt. ringer. If you need more post back.
