We have a Norstar KSU/PRI MICS 5. Is there a feature to assign a real phone number to ring at many users' sets? What's it called, and how is it done?

It is under terminals and sets, line access, line assignment within configuration programming. Feature **config and you password.

Change by set all lines you need to ring to either Ring Only, or Appear&Ring if you need them to have line appearances.

Beware voice mail, though. If a phone has a mailbox, and lines ring there, they will forward to that extension's mb at the programmed number of rings.

Is this Hunt Groups, or something else. Sorry, I've had this project on hold for a while, but now I'm ready to dig in.

If you want a line to ring at all the sets do what they say above. If you want a DN to call multiple sets set up a Hunt Goup and assign the sets in there and by calling the HG number all sets will ring

What kind of trunk is it?
Do you know the line number?

You can assign the line to each set you would like it to ring ... or ... create a broadcast Hunt Group with all the sets as members and assign the line to the Hunt Group.

Thanks for everyone's input. I got a little further. I assigned several DNs to a Hunt Group (708) and set it for broadcast. If someone internal dials 708 then the all ring as expected.

I also want these results if someone calls from the outside too, but that doesn't quite work. Under - System Programming | Hunt Groups (pick the group)| Line assignment | I selected an unused line. I call the 10 digits from my cell, but only 1 member phone rings. Then the general voicemail picks up after a few rings.

The line assigned to the hunt group cannot appear on any sets that are members of the hunt group.
Line programming will override hunt groups preventing the hunt group from behaving as configured.
