Hi Guys,

I've got a Customer who wants all phones to ring on I/C Calls so I've put all the sets into a Ring Group pointed my Trunks to the Ring group and as expected all the phones ring together, however the 5330 Sets display shows both the I/C Calling Line ID and the Ring Group Number but a 5312 Set and all of my other sets which are 5610 IP Dect Phones only show the Ring Group Number. If I point the trunk to one any single 5610 Set it shows the I/C Calling Line ID correctly as expected

I've been through all of the usual COS changes and and cant find a way to display the I/C Calling Line ID only, any ideas would be much appreciated. I'm happy to re-configure in anyway to get what I need if any one can think of a better way...........

Cheers

Steve

Large display will show the CLID but small display sets only display the group number. Tahts the way it is with ring groups.

5312 could use multicall groups to do what you want but not sure about the 5610's because you can only programme one mukticall on them for transfer purposes. I think you wi;ll struggle although someone may know different....

I believe there is a new COS in MCD 6, look for "Display Caller ID On Single Line Displays For Forwarded Calls" in the COS

If you name the ring group in the telephone directory you will see that name (if that helps)

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Thanks Guys

I've already had the "Display Caller ID on single lines displays" set to yes which logically would be the way to go and have had a ticket raised with Mitel and they reckon its a non starter, however my colleague reckon one of his Customers has this working so I'm hopefully going to be able to have a look at his saet up next week.

Thanks again for your input, I'll post the answer if I can.

I concur about what wireman50 said, from the help doc of MCD 6.0 under Ring Groups :

"member phones with large displays show both the group and caller name and number when the group is rung. Small-display phones show the ring group only."

Proposed work around :
Hunt group with multiple virtual key system extensions. Place those virtual extensions on each phone. Granted, it uses up a bunch of keys on every phone though. Functionality of a HG is a bit different from a RG too, so it may not apply to your setup.

could you not just use a multicall key group? This would display caller id if COS set correctly.

On 5610? How do you put a multicall line on that since it will only take two and the extra one is used for transfer...

Hi,

As far as I'm aware you can only add 1 additional key to a 5610 and it must be a second appearance of the the prime DN. I've tried putting another number on but it wont let me.

Still hoping..........

Can you not put the DDI to the 5610 and make all the others a personal ring group? Not saying it would fully work and not sure what the other phones would display but its worth a try...

Hi,

Yes I could and I toyed with the idea the only downside is that if that 5610 was rang individually then all the prg members would also ring.

I suppose the next question would be why do you need to see the CLID? Would a ring group name be sufficient info to replace that? if so name the ring group and that will be displayed instead of the number of the ring group. Will only work if the group is set to recieve calls from one particular place of course hence the first question...

Hi,

This has just gone in a large country house where the 5610 phones are dotted around the building. The customer is basically residential and they just want to see who's calling, its the simplest install imaginable, 1 Bri cct. Ring All, except I cant show them the CLI... even the simplest install can cause a headache, give me a Teleworker scenario any day.........

On my system if I call in with my mobile it says 'Boss Calling' and that is simply an entry in the directory associated with my mobile number (alpha tagging) I assume alpha tagging works with groups and if not you could use a name tag hunt group with the ring group as the only member and that would display the name of the name tag hunt group (IIRC).

Of course it means building the data base for alpha tagging and with numbers you don't know you will be back to square one....

Just shooting from the hip with multicall. what about creating a 'dummy' IP phone, put a multicall on all the IP hones of this DN & then put the 5610's in a PRG of the dummy IP phone. That way you could still call the individual 5610's.

This display behaviour is going to be changed in release 7.0 Mitel is going to let you choose between seeing the Ring Group number or the CLID based on COS. You wait for that release.(Get your customer on the Field Trail list that saves 4 to 6 weeks) :)

Hi,

bobcheese, I think you've cracked it, create a dummy extn, create a prg, put all my phones in it and point the trunks to the prg and all the phones ring and unbelievably its shows the CLI on single line sets like 5312's & 5324's as well as the text "forwarded" I can't test it at my Customer till early next week but I'm hoping it will work on the 5610 Dect Phones as well..

On another note although slightly off topic for this thread but same install, when a 5360 Set gets a Voicemail and the envelope light and the top indicator flash, pressing the envelope key would normally take you into voicemail, this dosent it just say's on the phone display, "NO MESSAGES". Even if I try to use the Phone Soft Keys I get the same message. If I dial the VM Number I can listen to the message.... If this correct or should I be able to pick up messages using the envelope or soft keys.

This is my first install for a year or so and I'm a bit rusty and not back up to speed.

Stevey, you should started another thread, but to answer your question is the call coverage services set correctly for the 5360.

Stevey, I think there is a limit on size of PRG so would suggest setting like I suggest (if it works) with combination of PRG & multicall keys.
