Have customer with MICS rev. 4.1 software. 29 telephones out of 48 are in ring group one for night ringing. in night mode the receptionist's (221) rings once before the ring starts. As the voice mail picks up after 3 rings, this only leaves 2 rings to grab it. I tried removeing 221 from the ring group, but still it rings once before the group ringing group starts. How can I get the ring group to ring 3 times before the V/M picks up?

Take the vm dn out of the group, and program it to answer at 3, or 4 rings.

This will also effect your normal mode, though. Service modes only add extensions to ring. Those programmed to ring otherwise will still ring in night mode.

I check the VM DN. both the prime port (500) in this case and the second port. neither are in the ring group. Why does 221 ring once before the group starts ringing?

Does 221 have any of the Ring Group lines assigned?

To solve your voicemail issue, do as Rik suggested and extend the number of ring cycles prior to the voicemail answering the call.
