I'm just curious we have a Definity G3r switch here at my work and I manage about 13 other prologix switches at are other sites with the Definity Site Administration software, the problem im haveing is I don't believe I have enough rights to clear some of the errors I get some times with the switch. I have the Lucent users manuals that tells what each error means and how to clear the error but everytime I need a error cleared I have to call Avaya. Im not sure who I need to call or if there is a certain name for this type of service that I need to get access to, any information provided about this would be much appreciated.

If your referring to the "w" type warnings, I believe a Audix restart will clear them.

[cheers] Bottoms up!

Actually there are different kinds of errors sometimes that I need to clear they can be random error types, like are inads line wasnt working one time and it sent a alarm to the attendant console, I want to be able to clear any errors that may come up and I don't believe I have enough rights to do this.

When you talk to your Account Rep the next time ask them to activate the MSP's on your PBX's. If you have maintenance through Avaya this should not be a problem. It used to be $50.00 a switch to turn this feature on. It allows you to test, busy out and release plus other things helpful to fixing problems.

One easy way to tell if you have those permissions is to type in (Test). If it comes up as an invalid entry you will need to have the MSP's turned on. They will not let you have those permissions without some sort of maintenance agreement.

Im pretty sure we have a maintenance agreement with Avaya there coming out today to replace some air filters on our G3r switch. I just typed in test and it told me that it was a invalid entry. Can anyone recommend another number to call other than 1800-242-2121 I hate there new voice recognition menu prompts it never works I always get some other department and they have to transfer me. What department do I want to get a hold of to get the MSP features turned on are switch?

Dan

You will need to contact your AE with Avaya or your Avaya Business partner, depending who you are using.

What login are you useing:
Customer or craft?

Do a "Display Permissions" and see what you can do.

Next time you see an Avaya tech, see if he will help you.
