I am attempting to launch an application which performs a scan of a PC when a user logs in. I have mapped a drive where the application resides with a directory within it that is used to store the data collected from the PC scans. I seem to be encountering a problem when trying to save the data, the directory is coming up as Read Only for users but not for Administrators. I have the users setup for Read, Write, Create, Modify. Is there another setting that I have missed that should be checked?

How are you saving the scans? Can you give us an idea of your procedure? -----------------------------------------------------

If you grant them full rights to the directory, will it work? Once you have verified that it works with full rights, then you can start removing rights... if necessary... until you figure out what works best.

Also, is this drive mapping to the directory using a "MAP ROOT" command?

Good Luck!

I will give that a go. The drive mapping does use the MAP ROOT command.

Doh, I should learn to read. I misread your original post, need beer!!

You will probably have to assign the Edit property too (RWCEM) for it to work. If you don't want the users to view the full contents of the directory (and believe me some do look!) then do not assign File Scan (F). -----------------------------------------------------

That's great! Thanks for your help. It turned out to be a rights problem and is now running fine :)
