We use crystal reports for a web-based application; many of our clients print the reports on an inkjet printer due to the header being in color. Generally, we print the reports here on our laser jet, and hav no problems, but many of the clients printing to various inkjet printers have the right sides (and occasionally the left side) of the reports cut off.

I asked our programmers about this issue, they said that our crystal reports are designed to dynamically size themselves to fit the printer that the report is being printed on. I do tell our clients who have this problem to check their print drivers and make sure they have the correct one installed for their printers, or to print it to a laser printer. Other than that, is there anything else I can do about this problem?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I have had this problem also even just printing from another machine with Crystal installed. I think the problem is more to do with printable areas as defined by the relevant printer drivers, and generally inkjets have a smaller printable area hence the cut off. The solution I used was simply to used the smallest printable area I knew I would be printing to and designing the report around that available space. You can also set the Page margins in File, Page Setup to be what the need to be and this will let you see the limits of the page.

Hope this helps,

Dave.
