When you Right Click on a desktop item, and select "Send To" menu it takes 20-30 seconds to pull up the 2nd menu to choose where you want to send it. Ideas? The "open with" menu works just fine....

I also have a strange problem with IE, that the Go button, or hitting enter will take you to the entered address.......

During the last 2 beta tests we found that more than one program would "right click = FREEZE".
1. certain spyware programs will cause "right click = FREEZE". in OE
2. Different CD/DVD burner installs caused "right click = FREEZE".
3. Dr. Divx installation caused "right click = FREEZE".
4. Zone Alarm FW caused "right click = FREEZE".
The main reason we found was some .DLL from 3d party programs caused the problem... some of the programs if entered into "DEP"
1. control panel
2. system
3. advanced
4. performance

use DEP
add the exe for the program which gives you a problem seems to help..
So there could be more than 1 program causing this problem for you.. easy way is to review your installs.. then add/remove one at a time until the problems stops... then try adding that program to "DEP" or upgrading or stop using.more than one choice here... hope this helps.

Let us know what programs you have on your send to menu option.

Isn't that what it is supposed to do???

I ment that IE address bard does NOT work....I should have been more clear.....

I am thinking the problem might be related to a DVD burner driver, or similar. 1 of the options to "send to" is to the DVD burner.....when I open My Computer, it takes about 20 seconds to show the available drives. (no mapped drives either)

I tried disabling the ability for XP to "enable recording for this device" and it still has the same symptoms...

I'm thinking it is a DVD drive driver perhaps....

called CD Gone from the registery... many times this helps if it is the CD/DVD player
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"UpperFilters"=-
"LowerFilters"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdr4_2K]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdralw2k]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdudf]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UdfReadr]
then remove Dr. Divx if you have that program installed..then go to the DR. DIVX site an follow how to use "DEP"..
