I have a program that uses documents and spreadsheets, etc. And I always find myself having to create a text file and then changing the extention to make one of my file types. I would like to add a menu item to the menu when you right click in the explorer and select "new". I don't quite know how to go about it though. any ideas or code on the subject?

Thanks, Cyprus

You sholud add a pop-up menu(TPopUpMenu) and associate with the explorer. You were talkning about an explorer created by you, right?

No. I'm talking about the windows explorer. If you right-click, and select new, it comes up with folder and shortcut at the top, then others at the bottom, for example: Microsoft word document, briefcase, text document, winzip file, etc. I need to stick my file in there, but don't know how. Does anyone else? Cyprus
