I've got a new DELL PE 2970 and I'm going to install the latest version of RHEL. In the BIOS the disks 01:00, 01:01 and 01:02 are set in a RAID 5 configuration out of the box. This is what I want. My question is, when I install RHEL, will Linux recognize these BIOS settings or will I have to configure Linux as well to keep RAID 5?

I think I answered my own question. I have a hardware RAID controller so RHEL should see my physical drives as one big drive in the OS installation.

If it's a true RAID controller, it should do.
