Hi all.

Is there anywhere I can find reviews for CLS and CLP? I am intending to take my exams soon but have no idea how the exams would be like.

Thanks!

I doubt that you will find any reviews, but I haven't ever searched for any either.
On the other hand, I have passed CLP and Principal CLP certifications for R3, R4 and R5, so I can tell you how it is going to go.

You will go to the test center where you have subscribed, and you will be issued your ID for logging on (if you are new). Once logged on, you will be shown the start page for the test you are supposed to pass (hopefully, if not, call for help).
The test itself is timed, duration depending on the type of test and its level. It is a Q&A test, with four or five answers per test.
If you know your subject, the most difficult issue is to understand the questions correctly. Indeed, the people assigned to creating the questions seem expert in confronting you with uncomfortable questions. For example, you can read a question to which you are sure that you know the answer, only to find that the option you expect is not available, or not worded as you would have expected. A lot of interior doubt ensues, as you read the question over and over in order to get a grip on what was really requested of you.
Sometimes, it is easier to choose the answers you are certain that are wrong, thus eliminating all impossibilities. The remaining option should be the answer you click.

Now, as I said before, if you know your stuff, you'll be able to catch the traps and get the answers right. Those who go for a test without having any field experience are in for an unpleasant ride.

I suggest you go through the questions in one go. Since you have the ability to overview your answers at any time before the end, you can therefor breeze through a first time, answering everything you are sure you can. Then you can go back through and ponder the questions that stumped you the first time around.
The additional benefit of this strategy is to catch a question that actually reveals the answer to another one you thought you answered - but by answering this one you find that your previous answer was wrong.

In any case, you have at best 30 seconds to answer every question - so you cannot afford to waste time at the first roadblock. Go on and come back to the problem questions if you have time.
Your required success rate will be given to you at the start of the test - because it depends on the number of questions asked, as well as the difficulty rating (that you will not know) of the questions.

At the end of the time allotment, or when you have validated all answers and voluntarily cut to the end of the exam, you wil lbe delivered a paper summarizing your results in the four or five categories of questions. You will NOT have a rundown by question (I know, it's not fun like that, but they won't risk giving away lists of questions).

Good luck !

Pascal.

Thank you Pmonett! That's a very detail explaination! :)

Hello,

I just took the exams and I found them very straight forward. Most of the questions were taken from the courseware and Help file. Good luck...

Rgds,

John
