I'm looking to gain a better understanding on the assignment of revenue centers via order modes, job codes, tables, and terminals. Essentially, I am looking for the hierarchy of how revenue centers are assigned to sales or different scenarios on when they are assigned. Below is how I believe it to be (or at least how I think it should be) but it doesn't always appear to operate this way.

Employee takes order
If revenue center assigned to order mode then use order mode revenue center
else
If revenue center assigned to job code then use job code revenue center
else
If revenue center assigned to table then use table revenue center
else
Use revenue center on terminal

If revenue centers can be attached to job codes and order modes, how are they used to capture the sales under theses revenue center? We are using Aloha 6.4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Revenue centers are assigned to order modes, tables, terminals, and job codes. The hierarchy for sales attribution is order mode overrides table overrides terminal. Job codes revenue centers are not included in the hierarchy. In Aloha versions 5.2.7.182 through 5.2.7.x, 5.2.8.73 through 5.2.8.x, and 5.3.1.42 and higher, the payment is always attributed to the terminal's revenue center.

The revenue center attached to the order mode is applied to a guest check if a revenue center is assigned to the order mode. If a revenue center is not assigned to the order mode, the revenue center attached to the table is applied to a guest check if a table number is used. If a revenue center is not assigned to the order mode and a tab is used, the revenue center attached to the terminal is assigned to the guest check.

The revenue center for the job code only applies to the Hourly Sales and Labor Report's 'Split Hourly Sales and Labor by Revenue Center' setting. It has no bearing on the guest check's revenue center assignment.

Thanks for the clarification. What if a tab was started with an order mode that did not have a revenue center assigned, and then a subsequent order was placed on that tab using an order mode that had a different revenue center assigned than the terminal. Would the initial sales be assigned to the terminal revenue center for a tab and then the added sales that were rung up under the order mode with a revenue center be assigned to that revenue center? The question would also be for a server who started a table with a revenue center and then later rang in To-Go food under an order mode with a different revenue center. For example:

1. Bartender starts a tab and rings in drinks and food under order mode without a revenue center. Then, halfway through the guest's meal, they want to place a To-Go order. The bartender rings this food under the To-Go order mode assigned to a different revenue center.

2. Server starts a table with a revenue center and rings in drinks and food under order mode without a revenue center. From here, I believe the initial sales would be assigned to the table revenue center. Then, halfway through their meal, the guests want to place a To-Go order. The server rings this food under the To-Go order mode assigned to a different revenue center.

It seems that once a tab is started and has been assigned the terminal revenue center, that no matter what order mode was used with a different revenue center for added orders, the entire sales on the check are assigned to the original terminal revenue center. As well, it seems that when a table is started, all sales are assigned to the table revenue center even when orders that were added later used an order mode with a different revenue center.

We were hoping that we could capture added sales to a check under the revenue center that was assigned to the order mode even when it was different than the terminal revenue center or the table revenue center. Is this not the case?

Thanks for your help.
