Return Code Error

Hi I am installing Symantec AntiVirus Corprate Edition Ver 8.1 I use the Symantec Packager to push the software to the workstations. However I have been coming across A Complete Return Code 1 or and Error Authentication Failure. I t hen check the machine and the software is not installed. Could someone please advise me to these errors since I could not find any on Symantecs Knowldge base.

i've got the same problem. i've only found a error list for the packager. Here the official description for Return Code #1:
"Failure (Pushed application executed improperly, generating an error or shutdown improperly, generating an error. Does not necessarily indicate an installation failure.)"

Please mail me if you got a solution.

Return Code 1 can mean several different things. The most common that I've seen when I've gotten this one is insufficient disk space on the target directory. The packager installs by default to the C:\drive and, especially on Windows NT 4.0 Workstations, this is limited in most cases to 2GB and can fill up quickly. You'll probably have to physically go to the offending computer itself and check it out. If disk space is ok, then look at your Windows Installer version. I've also found that the mcrepair.exe tool available from Microsoft can be a big help as well.

Situation:
After installing Symantec Packager to a Windows 2003 Server and building installation packages, the packages fail to execute or install.

Solution:
This problem has been addressed in Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 8.01 build 457, Symantec AntiVirus 8.1.1 build 314a, and Symantec Client Firewall 5.1.1 build 306. For instructions on obtaining the latest release, read the document How to obtain an update or an upgrade for your Symantec Corporate product.
