Since my other threads are other problems and are pretty much solved, I am starting a new one.

I have Windows XP. I had a slave drive (80GB) that went bad. With it connected either as primary or secondary drive as soon as the computer comes on it says it detected a problem with the hard drive and to press enter.

Once I press Enter I get a black screen that says press <F4> to enter setup, but pressing F4 or any other key does nothing.

With that drive disconnected I went into system and looked up the errors. It says the hard drive has a bad block.

So what I want to know, is there any way or any place I can take the hard drive to retrieve the 77GB of files I had stored on the drive?

Thanks in advance!

If you have a keyboard with a "F-Lock" key, try pressing it as soon as the computer starts and then <F4>.

Pretty sure the drive is dead now, but if you can get you pc booted up with it connected you might be able to retrieve soem data. Also check the HD manufacture web site they might have utilities that will help.
