I have a customer with a Norstar system and they need to pull call retail records from a week or so back but do not presently have an SMDR box on the unit. I can get them an SMDR box but it has been my understanding that call detail data is not buffered / stored on a Norstar, so they would not be able to pull up historical data. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

That is correct

You could output data to a PC running Hyperterminal. The maximum number of lines of data saved is 500, so I'd show someone how to save the SMDR data as a text file on a daily or weekly basis depending upon call volume.

Thanks exsmogger. Good idea. I think it's a small site and the calls they want were placed on Sunday so they may still be on the KSU. I will check it out.
