Hi all,
I need your precious support.
I'm using a gfs rotation but there is a little problem:
my daily bck(incremental) have 5 days of retention so if on monday file pippo.dat change I'll bakup it on mondey night. Now if on Tuesday someone delete file pippo.dat there is a big problem because on mondey of next week, when I overwrite the type with file pippo.dat because the retention period stops, we lost the file pippo.dat.

How can I save all files even if someone delete its?

Thank you for your attention.

Delicate problem - Simple answer:
Train your users!
If someone deletes a file and doesn't inform you immediately then it won't really matter what kind of backup strategy you have!
Even if you run a full backup every day and the same scenario, as you describe it above, happens you will not be able to restore the file if the user informs you on Tuesday the week after he deleted the file. You can always restore the file from an older backup but the changes will not be available....

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,
GSC
