Is there any means by which folder and file share permissions can be retained while moving from one NTFS partition to another?

To move files and folders and retain their NTFS permissions I use the Copy feature in ARCserve.

In order to retain file share permissions I use Hyena which allows you to drag and drop the file shares between servers - I think you can also use it to do the actual file copies but I haven't tested that. Hyena can be downloaded from:

I agree with Nick

ARC Serve and Backup Exec both retain the NTFS permissions.
Just restore the data pointing to the new location you require the data to go to.
